Spring 2008 Miniature F1b Labradoodle Litter
(parents: Joy & Armani)

Everlasting Joy had a very small litter of F1b Mini Labradoodles in late March, sired by Signature Armani.
This litter was much smaller than the previous ones, with only two pups.
These puppies will mature to 16-18" and 20-40 lbs. Light and dark apricot, they both have fleece coats.
The Spring 2008 litter were all promised before they were born, and because it was
a small litter many customers had to slide down to the Fall 08 litter.

Wednesday May 14th, 2008:  Our puppies are almost 7 weeks old. They both were spayed today and came through like champs.  It's really amazing how quickly they heal from Early Spay-Neuter (ESN) at this age as opposed to 6 months.  Our litter was bouncing around and seemingly unaffected by the time I picked them up at 5pm, just 6 hours after their spay.  In contrast, our Goldendoodle Bella, who recently failed her hip testing, was spayed last month.  She had 2 very bad days of whining and pain, followed by 2 weeks of itching so intense that she had to wear a protective collar.  I'd vote for ESN any day!!  Our puppies are going home with the Wilz (Light Girl) and Hackiewicz (Dark Girl) families.

Monday May 5th, 2008:  Our two sweet puppies are 5 weeks old.  Because it's spring they are getting lots of time outside with our kids.  They will be getting their first in the puppy shot series when they turn 6 weeks old. We will also begin "group" crate training (ok, a group of TWO!) when the pups are about 6 1/2 weeks old.  Here are some fun photos:

Friday April 25, 2008:  This is such a small litter!  We are used to having nine, but we are enjoying doting on these two little girls.  They are becoming more playful and their fat little tails wag in happiness. There isn't any sibling rivalry so far-- there are enough milk dispensers, toys and boys to go around!  I put a pee-pad in the whelping pen last week and they quickly figured out what to do on it (pee!).  Neither one is interested enough to try to escape the pen, though I'm sure they could get over the minimal wall if they tried (I plan to replace it with a higher wall as soon as one gets over.)  Adam is my Camera Assistant for the week -- he is seven and wants to be a veterinarian when he grows up.

Sunday April 13, 2008:  The girls are fat and happy. Their eyes have opened in the past 5 days-- some of the pictures below show them on the day they opened. I call them "Piggy 1 and Piggy 2" because their tummies both look enormous to me!  I just compared them to Joy's last two litters at 3 weeks old and they are both hitting the average. They are about 2 1/2 pounds each right now.  I posted lots of photos at full size, but I will shrink them to thumbnails in a couple of days.

Ryan (8) was my "assistant photographer" this week.
I asked him to kiss the puppy for the picture,
but I think he really wanted to be looking at the camera.  :)

Monday April 7th, 2008:  Our small litter of girls is doing great!  Both girls have achieved 250% of their birth weight in 9 days; they weigh just over 1.5 pounds each today. We have forgone collars because we have "Light Girl" and "Dark Girl".  I took one cute picture of them doing a YIN-YANG demonstration.  The puppies are settled into the Puppy Room and Joy is a great mom, as always.  It's wonderful to cuddle both pups and know that I'm not leaving anyone out!

Saturday March 29, 2008:  Joy delivered two beautiful female puppies at 3:45 and 4:45am this morning.  Blue girl is dark apricot and Green Girl is lighter apricot.  They are both very healthy and sucking well.  The only bad news is that many of our families waiting for this litter will not get a Naper Doodle this spring. Here are newborn photos of our two girls.  Joy looks a bit wet because she received a good bath after whelping.
Sunday March 23, 2008: Happy Easter!  But no puppies yet.  My youngest asked me "if Joy whelps on Easter, will she have bunnies instead of puppies?"  The X-Ray last week showed two skulls and spines, but my vet felt like he might see 1-2 more.  The size of this litter will definitely slide some families to a future waiting list.  Joy whelped her last litter on Day 58, which is tomorrow, but a standard gestation is 63 days, which is next Saturday.  We are taking Joy's temperature every 3-4 hours-- when it drops about 2 degrees I will know to expect pups within 12 hours.  I will post here as soon as they are whelped and settled in!
March 14, 2008 (48 days pregnant):   Well, I'm sorry to say that I'm not feeling confident about a large litter.  Joy is definitely not *huge* like she was with the first two litters of nine.  Joy's diet is ample with plenty of nutritious treats like eggs, beef and cottage cheese.  An X-Ray around Day 55 will allow us to count puppy skulls and know how many to expect at whelping.  I'm sorry for this news and I'm not sure why this litter will be small.  We took all of our normal steps toward artificial insemination, including four progesterone tests to pinpoint Joy's ovulation day, and two inseminations.
February 26, 2008:  Joy is halfway there!! While not looking pregnant quite yet, Joy is acting pregnant.  She doesn't want to rough-house with Bella as much, preferring to lay in the sun and follow me around the house. Her official Due Date is March 24th, but we'll start watching her very closely around the 20th.  If you would like to visit Joy before the litter arrives we'd love to see you, but once the litter comes we won't have visitors until the puppies are six weeks old.  Be sure to check our Puppy Praises page for recent pics of our past Mini Labradoodles!
January 25, 2008: Joy surprised us a bit early this time-- she will be bred tomorrow and next Monday! This should bring us Mini F1B Labradoodle puppies during the last full week of March. They will be eight weeks old, and ready to come home, between May 18th and 24th.

November 2007:
Everlasting Joy's Spring 2008 litter should be born in April and go home in June.  Our waiting list for the next litter is completely full, and our next availability will be in Fall 2008. Joy has had nine puppies in each litter so far.

As the sire we have again chosen Signature Armani of Tuscan Ridge Labradoodles. We are pleased to have a great relationship with Tuscan Ridge -- Armani has proven himself with terrific litters in the past!  Please visit our Meet the Parents page for all of the details on both Joy and Armani.  Our Miniature Doodles will mature to 15-18" and 20-40 pounds.  Their color range will be cream to apricot to dark red, both fleece and wool coats.

We will continue to add updates to this page (Current Puppies) as we have news-- please visit the pages we updated weekly for Joy's first litter and Joy's second litter to see examples of our weekly updates. Our FAQ page should also answer a bunch of your questions! Feel free to contact us if you have any questions that aren't answered on the website.

God...sat down for a moment when the dog was finished in order to watch it...
and to know that it was good, that nothing was lacking,
that it could not have been made better.
