Puppy Praises... from owners of Naper Doodles

From Tasha:   I owe a very special thank you to Sophie's family, who took care of Everlasting Joy during our family vacation to Colorado... which turned into an emergency extended trip to Seattle after my Grandma died.  Joy was at "Camp Kelly" for many days more than expected and she was well loved and doted upon, including photos by email to calm my worries.

Here are some beautiful photos they took recently of Sophie.  What a delight she is, and her coat is softer than silk.

Hi Tasha.  We just got back from my dad's place in  WI.  These pictures turned out so great I had to share them with my fellow doodle-lovers!  Teddy is my best little furry buddy!  I took a very long walk today and took lots of nature photos.  He's a perfect subject!
~ The Christensen Family ~

Tasha,
It was 6 months ago yesterday since Toby has been in our home.  He has been a blessing to our family.  I thought our home was loud before!  The kids want to play with him non-stop!  He has been so much fun and our boys just love him.

He follows me around the house.  He will not eat unless we are in the same room with him.  We have his kennel in the family room and when we are all in there watching TV, he will come in and asks us to pet him, then he goes and lies in his crate.  He is very sweet, but boy, when he's ready to play, you better be ready to play!

I have attached a pic of Scott with Toby.  Our entire family can't believe Scott loves him as much as he does because he was the one that needed convincing to get a dog.  I still can't believe it!

~ The Schauer Family ~

Hi Tasha,
Wrigley is unbelievable! He hardly ever barks, just when he wants you to know that he is ready to play. I remember that you told us that Joy follows you where ever you go, same thing with Wrigley. Donna or I can go up and down the stairs 100 times a day and right next to us is Wrigley.

Wrigley gets bigger & bigger each day.... Right now he weighs about 24 lbs. and he will be 6 months old on Saturday..... as I'm sure you know.  He is just our great big, precious baby.... our fur ball.  As you can tell, we are absolutely crazy about him. :-)   Wrigley is everything that we wanted.
~ The Rybacks ~

Good Morning Tasha,
Wrigley is so precious....... we are so crazy about him...... it's amazing.  Every day he does something that's cuter than the day before, if possible.  I know I'm going to be rambling on & on, but he's worth it!  When he gets up in the morning he sort of gives a little cry or sound to let us know he's up.  I yell down 'I'll be right there' & he waits without a sound.  I sit down by his crate & when he comes out of his crate he simply has to stretch & stretch & stretch.

A couple of days ago a commercial for a new movie came on & he stopped what he was doing, walked up to the TV & sat down.  Needless to say it was Snow Buddies & of course we went to Target last night to get the DVD for him.  He just loves everything.  He is about 20 lbs & you hear every pound of him when he's running around.... I call him thunder foot.  Everyone that meets him is really in awe of him.... his color..... his face.... his cute personality.... his hair.. the fleecy type that we wanted!!  He loves to play with other dogs... now that he's had all of his shots.... Anyway here are some pictures of Wrigley.

Hope all is well with you & your family.... Steve & I cannot get enough of him :-)  He's like a teddy bear..... except he's always kissing us.... he has added so much to our family....

Thank you again sooooooo much.... as you can see we just love him ;-)    ~ Love, The Ryback Family ~

Hey Tasha,
Thanks so much for the birthday wishes.  We had a great day filled with new bones and toys!!  Miller has been a true joy to have around the house.  He is super well behaved, we get compliments on how cute and well behaved he is all the time.  I am sending you one year pictures with a new haircut.  He is about 16 inches tall at the shoulder and 25 pounds.

We have been enjoying watching your website and seeing the new litter as they grow.  They are all adorable too.  Joy must be pregnant again by now.  Hope all is going well with her.  Looking forward to the weather getting a little better so we can get out.  Looking forward to seeing all the siblings on your Gallery Page!     ~ Doty Family ~

Hi Tasha,
Saturday we celebrated Bailey's first birthday with our 5 granddaughters in Naperville. As you will see from the photos, she was excited to go, happy to be there, and tired when it was over. It will probably take her a week to rest up from all the play 5 girls can give a dog.

She's doing super, weighs around 19 pounds now, is 16 inches high at the shoulders, and is the happiest and friendliest dog around. She is a little tired of all the snow and is looking forward to summer.       ~ Griffith Family ~

We recently had the opportunity to "babysit" Sophie while her full-time-dad was out of town for business. We loved having her in our home and she was fully entertained by Joy, Bella and our boys.  She's a deep red bundle of love, very intelligent, eager to please and full of funny antics.

Sophie, on the left, is a 4 month old F1B Mini Labradoodle.  Sophie's parents are Joy and Armani.

Bella, on the right, is our medium F1 Goldendoodle.

Tasha, I wanted to send you this picture...I took Toby to the groomers a few weeks ago.  Now, of course I think he is the cutest dog ever, but when I picked him up I couldn't believe how cute he was.   ~ Schauer Family ~

Hi Tasha! Sadie (16 weeks) had her shots today and she's a whopping 13.9 pounds!  They're taking bets at the vet's office as to how big she'll get...by the way, I really like the vet my friend recommended & so does Sadie.  His name is Dr. Andy Cox & he's with All Creatures Animal Hospital if you want to add him to your "Good Vet" list. I'm told all the doctors there are great, but I've only met Dr. Cox.

Sadie is not suffering from lack of attention - she's the sweetest thing - when she's not chewing holes in the carpet (she flips over the edge & chews from the back of the rug - very sneaky!) or running off with one of the kids' shoes! She caught on to ringing her bell to be let out & hasn't had an accident in the house in weeks. We love her dearly & really can't imagine the house without the sound of her little paws!! Hope you & your family are well - talk to you soon!

Hi Tasha.  Here are cute photos from Teddy's last visit with Sophie (both 3 months).  I also included a silly picture of my kids with Teddy in a New Year's Eve hat - playing the good sport that he always is!  :)

Teddy's coat is just beautiful.  He's so plush and soft that we just want to cuddle him all of the time!  He's doing great with the potty training.  He's ringing his bell on the back door most of the time now when he needs to go out (or just wants to go out and sniff around!).  We're still taking him out at very regular intervals too.

My husband and kids tease me about how attached Teddy is to me literally and figuratively.  He's like my little shadow, following me everywhere!  He cries for me when I'm upstairs and he's not.  I often take him out in the car with me to run the kids places or to do quick one-stop errands.  He has a little fleece-lined harness style seat belt so that he can safely ride up front next to me.  He's got his fleece blanket on his car seat, and he's as happy as can be to travel around with us.

Everybody loves him.  The neighbors all stop us as we pass by on a walk to pet him and play with  him.  He's like a little goodwill ambassador!  You should be so proud of the wonderful puppies you are breeding.  Teddy has a great temperament, is incredibly affectionate and eager to please, and is the world's cutest little guy! I hope all is well with you and your family!  Merry Christmas!

Hi Tasha, Winston (3 months) is doing awesome!  He is the complete puppy.  Winston loves just hanging out with us and being included in whatever we are doing. He also loves to play with Vader (our 2 1/2 year old black lab) and they supply us with hours of entertainment. Winston has his next doctors appointment on the 16th and I will get you the information you have requested from us. Winston is so beautiful.  His color, coat texture and length, his build, his personality, we really love everything about him.  I will send you a picture soon.  Hope you had wonderful holidays.

Dear Tasha, Quick update on little Toby (3 months).  Took him for his final puppy check up yesterday! He is now 11.8#  Doctor says he looks fantastic.  We start school tonight and we are looking forward to it!  He is very lively and a lot of fun.  The kids just adore him.  Everyone says he is so cute.  Even people who are not "dog people", say is too cute!  Here are some pics!  ENJOY!

Hi Tasha, I just thought that I would drop you a note to tell you how things are going with Wrigley (4 months). First of all, there isn't a day that goes by without either Donna or myself saying " look at Wrigley", two seconds later " look at Wrigley", maybe ten seconds later "look what he's doing, go get the camera". He has really put a smile on our faces. Naturally raising a puppy at our age (cough - cough) is not that easy, but he is well worth the occasional accident or mouthing cut. He is really getting big, everyday you can see the difference.  I took Wrigley for his last round of shots (except for the rabies) on Dec. 28th and he weighed 14lb 7oz.

I don't know if Donna told you, but Wrigley had an allergic reaction to the first puppy shot. When I took him home he vomited and just laid down in the dog run. We immediately called the vet who said that we should bring him back right away. They gave him some meds intravenously and thankfully he was alright. The vet said that this happens once in awhile so from now on before any shot we will give him a half of a Benadryl tablet.

Attached is one of a zillion pictures of Wrigley, the only problem is that they do not do him justice.

~ Ryback Family ~
PS. We had Wrigley groomed today, you can actually see his eyes in the second photo.

Hey Tasha,  This is a much delayed note, with pics of Miller at 9 mos.  He is 23 lbs and doing really well.  Tom and I are having a lot of fun with him.  It has been a lot of fun watching your website with the new litter and reading all the notes from your new families.  Its hard to believe it has been almost a year since our pups were born.  Hope your family {dogs too} are doing well.   Happy New Year!!

Walker (9 months) is doing great.  He weighs 28 lbs. now and graduated his dog training class at 8 months.  He got 95% on his Canine Good Citizen test, his only fault being the jumping.  He can't contain his excitement when he sees you.  Walker has let up on chewing and is a very well behaved dog in the house.  We haven't used a crate since he was 7 months old or so.  He sleeps on the floor near our bed or our daughter's bed and when we leave he's free to roam since he's proven himself trustworthy.

We are going on 2 long trips this year and our friends and family have happily offered to take Walker.  They all want dogs after spending time with him.  Since they all have hectic travel schedules we have worked out a sharing program when we are gone so they get their fix and Walker never has to stay in a kennel.  If you are ever in the Lake Geneva area, please feel free to stop by.  We'd love to re-introduce you to everybody's favorite dog.

Dear Tasha, As I write this note a tuckered out Sophie (2 months) is laying on my feet. I just wanted you to know how well she is doing.  She is such a joy to have in our home. I must say that I believe she is the smartest dog I have ever experienced. She is great at communicating her needs to us and very rarely has an accidents. She sleeps through the night without a hitch. Also, my little 6 pounder is about up to 9 pounds.

It's a joy to see her grow and we are taking as many pictures as we can before she loses her "puppiness". I have attached our official Christmas photo for you. We wish you and your family a very joyous Christmas and a healthy New Year. I will update you about my little darling soon after the holidays.

Teddy and Sophie recently had a playdate!
This is a note from Sophie's "Mom":

The pictures [of our playdate] are just wonderful.  We had such fun time.  Teddy is a absolute dear.  I hope we can get together soon.  It's snowing now and Sophie and I just came in from playing in the snow.  She was fascinated with the quiet of the snow falling and came in looking like a polar bear.  I have to tell you it is such a comfort to be at home with a sweet puppy draped on my leg.  This is a great time of the year.

Teddy is loving life and all the people he meets and the people all adore him.

Tasha, I think it would be tough to find much cuter puppies anywhere!  :)
And Teddy has the world's sweetest, most loving disposition.
He's bringing such joy to our lives!

Dear Tasha, Wanted to give you and update on Toby.  He is absolutely wonderful.  He is such a great dog.  He is already letting us know if he needs to go out!  He will stand by the door or let out a few good yelps!  Last night he slept for 8 hours!  He does wonderfully in his crate at night.  Not a peep out of him! Thank you for all that you have done to make the transition easy for our little guy.  He has fit right into our family.

Everyone says he is the cutest puppy they have ever seen!  Of course, we agree!  I took him to the vet today and he was pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful breeder you are!  Thank you!

Naper Doodles' F1B Mini Labradoodle (parents Joy & Armani)

Hi Tasha, here is a picture of Teddy with the kids right after we got home yesterday.  What a happy bunch! :)  We had a good first day and night with Teddy.  He only had one little piddle on the back hall rug as we were getting ready to take him out.  He loves the backyard and running in the leaves.  He is hilarious to watch in the backyard - he really bounces and pounces more than he runs!  We've found that we have to make things very boring when it's meal time, or he'll get too excited to eat.  He slept from about 10:45 p.m. to 6:15 am the first night, which was great!  He only whimpered a little after I put him in his crate for the night.  I pet him for a few minutes and then he curled up for the night.

He loves his big poofy bed from Orvis (for heavy chewers!) and he jumps on it like it's a trampoline, and then gets unbalanced and rolls off the sides, much to his surprise!  I think I must remind him of you because he's getting attached to me very quickly.  He's so cute the way he'll wander from the kitchen to the back hall and then to the office to check on all of us.  He is just gobbling up all of the loving he's getting!

Teddy's check up today went very well.  Our vet said that he looks very healthy and adorable!  Our vet was so impressed by how well he is sleeping.  Tasha, I think you did a wonderful job getting the puppies used to their crates.  He loves his crate in the back hall, with the plush fleecy pad.  He naps during the day with his head resting on his blue toy lamb or on the fleecy pad flap in the doorway to his crate.  He'll come out to get a drink of water and then happily go back in to curl up and rest. The back hall is right by the kitchen so he can see us in either the kitchen or the office from his crate and can hear the family talking.

He napped a lot yesterday after playing for a long time with about 10 neighbor kids. :)  The neighbors are stopping over asking to meet him!  He loves exploring with us in the backyard.  I'm constantly taking leaves out of his mouth.  We're going to designate an outside toy to come out in the yard to try to keep his curious mouth busy!

My husband is just nuts about Teddy (He's usually so low key and doesn't get exuberant about a lot of things)!  He keeps saying what a great temperament he has, how good he is about going potty outside and that he's not a big barker.
The only barking he's done is at a small tupperware bowl we gave him to play with today.  :)  We are so in love with Teddy!

Tasha, I have to tell you that we have the BEST puppy in the world!  The crate training is going so well - she's slept thru the night (10 - 6:15am) both nights!! YEAH!!

She had her vet checkup today & he marveled at the beautiful dog you bred - we love her & so does everyone who meets her - she has the best disposition and the cutest little face we've ever seen!!  We couldn't be happier with our girl (and her wonderful 'first family' - The Millers) - it's evident that you have certainly loved on this pup a lot.

We promise to keep up the good work you began and keep you updated with her progress - I will email photos as soon as I can...and thanks for the advice!
~ Mistretta Family ~

Hi Tasha,
Oh is he ever a sweetheart.  We can't get enough of him :)

He slept from 10:00 PM until 6:30 AM.  He is such a cuddler... he's either playing and running around or you can pick him up at any time & he'll snuggle with you.  Also, this is so funny... we have a mirrored wall unit in our family room and every time he runs by it, he must think there's another dog... so he either tries to touch it with his paw or growls at it.  It is too cute.  I can't stop laughing every time he does that.

He seems to love everything.  He has a wonderful disposition and he did not seem frightened or scared at all yesterday, just happy to please & kiss.  In the car on the way home he was crying, but we thought best to ignore it & then he did stop crying.  I think I could probably go on & on & on...

Tasha, I just want you to know what a special place you hold in my heart :)
Thank you again for letting us "adopt" Wrigley...we'll take good care of him.  Thanksgiving and its' meaning is one of the nicest holidays... what a great time to get our little "Wrigley."

[Note below received in a card on Pick-Up Day, photos from the Christensen family visit when the pups were 6 weeks old ]

Dear Tasha and Family,
This gift is a little thank you to you for making the process of finding and adopting a labradoodle puppy such a wonderful experience in every way.  Tasha, your website immediately stood out from the rest that I researched.  Your obvious love and care for your dogs, before, during and after their birth and going-home-day are beautifully evident.  You've made our experience fun and exciting with regular website updates and e-mails.  Your website and e-mail responses to questions have made the experience very educational and confidence building.  We want to thank your sons for all the love and affection they've showered on the puppies, so that they will be well-socialized when we bring ours home.  Thank you to your husband for supporting your wonderful breeding program.  We would very highly recommend you to family and friends.  We'll have fun keeping you updated on Teddy's new life.

More than anything I want to thank you for breeding such beautiful F1B labradoodles which are making it possible for our family, with several members with asthma and allergies to *finally* adopt a dog with confidence and even the positive feedback from our allergy-asthma doctor about the F1B labradoodle breed.  Picking up Teddy to bring him home will be one of the happiest days, and soon to be best memories of our family life!  Enjoy sharing our little token of appreciation with your human family and Joy and Bella!

Visiting Joy's second F1B Mini Labradoodle litter

Naper Doodles' F1B Mini Labradoodle (parents Joy & Maestro)

[photo taken by Tasha during Miller's visit]

Hey Tasha!  This is a much delayed note to thank you for all the great pictures from our visit!  They are all really nice pictures.  We had a really nice time coming to see you and Bella is a beautiful girl.

Miller (6 months) has recently had his first haircut.  The body is a tad short for me but you can see his curls more now.  Miller is doing really well...sleeping in our bed now and very rarely in his crate even when we are gone.  He is very trustworthy, has never had an accident or chewed anything.  I should knock on wood when I say that!  He really is super well behaved, we can take him anywhere, "settle" is the best thing we learned in obedience school.
~ Doty Family ~

Hi Tasha!
I wanted to e-mail you to let you know that Payton (6 months) is doing great and has been such a joy to have around.  She now sleeps on our bed with us, and sleeps in until whenever we are ready to get up and take her outside.  We have taken her with us on several weekend trips up north with friends, and she always does great in the car.  Our friends will bring their dogs along as well, and Payton has the time of her life running around and playing all weekend.

Thanks again for all the updates.....it's so fun to see what all Payton's sisters and brothers have been up to!  I attached a couple of pictures for your website as well.  Take care, and feel free to visit any time!

Photo from Tuscan Ridge Labradoodles' Guardian family.

A Cappella Toscana ("Ella") was "White Girl" from Joy's first litter of Mini F1B Labradoodles. In this photo she was six months old.  Ella is the only pup from our first two litters of Mini Labradoodles that will be bred in the future.  She currently weighs 14 pounds and will probably mature to 16-18 pounds.
She is owned by Tuscan Ridge Labradoodles in North Carolina.

Dear Tasha,
We hope your summer is going well. Ours is great and what fun to watch a puppy grow up chasing butterflies and loving long walks to enjoy the nice weather (until the past week when it is toooo humid for us). Bailey (6 months) far surpasses any expectations we had. Even a neighbor that has taught obedience said she has never seen such a well trained dog at 5 months! I know it is a combination of Nature and Nurture, but it also proves to us that research and choosing the right breeder pays off. That old adage, "you get what you pay for" also sure rings true.

Also wanted to let you know how much we like the dog food, Boomerang tag, Mink Sheen and Nature's Miracle recommended by Naper Doodles. We have recommended them as well as you to everybody we talk dog to. No one that owns or has owned a dog has been as well informed or prepared as we have been through your efforts all along the way.

We are going to be in Naperville next week. If you would like, and have a few spare minutes, we would love to show you the BEST DOG IN THE WHOLE WORLD, aka Bailey Griffith.
~ Griffith Family ~

These are pictures from Bailey's visit to our home when she was 6 months old

Tasha-  Gus is a wonderful puppy! Everyone loves him and we can't walk around the block without someone telling us how cute he is.
He is still very laid back and likes everyone he meets- animals and people.
He loved walking to school to pick up our daughter, it always meant being surrounded by adoring children!
There are 3 puppies in our neighborhood and he is so excited when he sees them, it's so fun to watch them play.
He is quite the cuddly lap dog and now sleeps with my husband and me.

We have not completely worked out the housebreaking yet.
My husband says he will be the PERFECT pet when the housebreaking issue is resolved- WOW!
We keep him with us or gated in the kitchen and he rarely has an accident. He's is very good about going to the bathroom when we take him out
and knows our words for poo and pee but he hasn't figured out how to tell us he needs to go out. I hung bells in the kitchen
and when I take him out we go to the bells, I ring them and say "outside", but he won't ring them yet. I've also tried to get him to bark
but he's not a barking dog so I haven't been able to teach him speak and then work on connecting speaking with going out.
We are starting a puppy obedience class next week and hope to get some more ideas there.

I am sending pictures of another of his adventures though-- he is now a seafaring pup.
He's been out with us on our boat twice and seems to have taken to boating very well.
I will send more pictures of Gus and his adventures (camping is planned for the summer) as he grows
and look forward to seeing how his siblings are growing, too!

Naper Doodles' F1B Mini Labradoodle (parents Joy & Maestro)

Hi Tasha. Well, Sully & siblings will be 16 weeks old tomorrow. "The Red Menace" continues to charm (or steal) the socks off everybody. Now apparently completely house-trained. Does very well on the leash.  Responds to "sit" perfectly. "Come" and "down" are about 75% now.

Only real problem with Sully is the nipping - playfully - but you know how sharp their little teeth are. And it scares the little children.  Of course, the more they squeal, the more he harasses them.  The "Act like a Tree" technique works pretty well, but it's hard to get a 4 year-old to do it. OUCH! hasn't worked.  Ignoring him sort-of works, sometimes - but he is persistent. I have lately started thumping him in the nose. He is defiant. Barks and stands up on his hind legs and bats away at me like a bear.  Frankly, it is so doggone cute that I can't help but laugh - so now he thinks that's a game. One of my small dog breeder friends says she cries when her little dogs nip her, and that it only takes a couple of times for them to stop biting.  Hmm ... somehow, the picture of a 240 lb, 60 year-old, scarred-knuckled, ornery old man whimpering over a tiny puppy nipping him is... well, it's hard for me to gin that one up. He is especially bad to bite feet. This is a barefoot place, too.  Eventually, somebody is going to drop kick his scrawny little red butt across the room.

Tasha, little red Sully is the #1 winner of cute dogs.  He is also the dearest little friend. My best wishes to your family.

Naper Doodles' F1B Mini Labradoodle (parents Joy & Maestro)

What can I say about Finn?  WE LOVE HIM TO DEATH!!!!!  He is the most wonderful puppy in the whole world!  Of course our older kids think that we've lost our minds - but everyone loves him!

He has been very easy to train.  He listens to us and really seems to be very smart.  We have lived in our neighborhood for almost 20 years but I am meeting so many new people on my walks with him - everyone stops to ask what kind of dog he is and can't believe how cute he is.  People always say he looks like a live stuffed animal.  I have to admit that we did not even try to push the crate...we let him sleep in our bed from day one and that has worked out really well. (All the books say to never do this...we did it because we wanted to!!!)   We take him in the car occasionally but he is not really crazy about the car.  He prefers to ride in the back seat and loves to put his head out the window.

Finn has met a lot of dogs and is very friendly.  He does not bark or cause trouble.  The only time he barks is when he gets really excited if he sees someone - like a neighbor child - at the door.  He is a good communicator - it is easy to tell what he needs.  I hope this is helpful.  I will try to get some pictures off to you in the next couple of weeks.  I hope all is well with you and your family and that Joy is doing well.

Hi Tasha.. Hope this message finds you doing well. Just wanted to give you an update on Mac.  He is now about 14 lbs and growing! I absolutely love the little guy...and so does everyone else too!  He is the degree of "cuteness"...where it is almost a problem, because he gets bombarded every time he is out in public.  It is fun having a puppy that makes so many people smile.  Last week he started puppy class and is meeting new dogs and learning a ton. Mac loves people and enjoys walks, I can tell you started the socialization process. Sometimes he barks in his sleep...it is so funny.

Hey Tasha! Just a quick note to tell you how wonderfully Miller is doing! We are starting obedience school and everyone thinks he is the cutest and smartest dog... he has really been doing great with all the simple commands. We have the electric fence in (with just the noise.. no shock yet). I would appreciate any tips you have, but so far he seems to want to avoid just the noise pretty well. He was 11 lbs the other day at the vet where he got his rabies shot. We don't go back now for 6 weeks. Have you gotten pics from any other families yet? Am looking forward to seeing them. Will talk again soon...hope your new pup is doing well. My daughter is very serious about wanting one of her pups someday so keep me posted on that.
~ Doty Family ~

Dear Tasha,
I am THE BEST dog in the world. I am turning out to be THE cutest, THE smartest, and THE cuddliest puppy ever.  Everyone I meet remarks on my beautiful color and how cute I am. I love meeting people and all kinds of dogs too.  My best friend is BIG German Shepherd who lives up the street from me. I love to run after her as she chases her Frisbee.  When I get a little bigger, I will chase Frisbees too. I am learning to fetch my balls now.

I went to the vet today (I like him too) and I now weigh 9.5 pounds. I am not the world's greatest eater and am already on just 2 meals a day, but I am growing up very healthy.

Since I am sooo social and love every person and dog I meet, my humans and my vet have decided that I don't need the Puppy Socialization classes.  Even Obedience is questionable because I am doing so well with commands...sometimes even hand signals work. I am training them very well.  I know you miss me, but you have the boys and the dogs to keep you company.                Love and licks, Bailey

Naper Doodles' F1B Mini Labradoodle (parents Joy & Maestro)

   Dear Tasha,
Miller is doing just wonderfully here!! He is fitting in beautifully with our family.
He weighs a whopping 8.8 lbs and is doing well with his shots.  He is walking on the leash really well and can "heel" with the best of them.  He doesn't particularly care for his crate but does just fine when he is in it.
Potty training is going pretty well; we are doing the bell system and he is catching on.  He does have an accident here and there though. He loves to ride in the car and loves to be brushed. My son got his labradoodle, Elwood, and they are SO cute together! They play and roll around and then collapse in a heap side by side. I have sent some pictures...would love to see the rest of the litter.

These are recent pics you can choose from for the website. Payton is SUCH a wonderful little puppy, and has the greatest personality!

She is adjusting really well, and loves being around people and other dogs.  Everyone she meets just falls in love with her!  I can't imagine a better puppy.  :)
I absolutely love her!  We started some "Puppy kindergarten" classes last night, and she's just having a ball doing all the regular puppy things, (eat, play, sleep...repeat).  :)

Hi Tasha,
Bailey (3 months) is doing great. She has exceeded all of our expectations in adapting to her new environment, training, socialization, and everything else.  She's learning how to handle the wild excitement that the seven granddaughters provide and has some play pals in the neighborhood that come to visit, mostly larger dogs, but she can hold her own with the best of them.

She has been sleeping through the night for three weeks now, her only adjustment came in the first week. She's eating well, three times a day. She has her really playful period between 6 to 9 PM at night. And she has become the neighborhood center of attention and has many grownup admirers.  I have attached her 12 week old photo, taken today.  Thanks again,

Walker just went to the vet and weighed in at 10.5 lbs (at 12 weeks old).  He's very healthy and happy and a wonderful addition to our family.  Our daughter is absolutely in love (and I believe the feeling is mutual).  We're working on insisting that Walker have some "alone time" so the little guy can rest his puppy bones now and then.

Walker follows me everywhere, so I haven't had to use the leash hardly at all.  He is very good about house training, only the occasional mistake ever.  I'm training him to use a bell to tell us he needs to go out.  He's very smart...on the 5th day at our home he knew "sit" and on the 6th and 7th days we mastered lay "down" and "speak".  We are still working on "come" consistently.  Our only challenge to date is his need to chew, which is a surprise to no one.  Time will help with that, I think.  In the meantime we continually put chew toys in front of him.
[note from Tasha-- Walker was the "chewer" of the litter, chewing on a toy no matter what distractions were around. He was also very calm so we knew he would do well with a 5-year old if they just kept chew toys in front of him!]
The first few days home we did lots of cuddling but now he seems to be a bit more independent.  He wants me in eyesight but not to be on top of me or my foot any longer.  Regarding sleep...for the first week and a half we had him next to me in a crate and he slept from 10pm until 5:30am like clockwork every night.  So we decided after a while to move him to another area of the house now and I get him out at 6:30am and he is happy and ready to play.

Everyone who meets Walker (and there are many as I've taken him with me everywhere and we have many visitors to our home) has said, "He doesn't look real, he's like a little teddy bear." He is very social and greets everyone with a little prance.  We are all amused by his little sideways run too.  His body is diagonal when he trots.  I have no idea why but it's very endearing.  He took about 2 minutes to adjust to the pier and I'm sure he'll be jumping in as soon as the water warms up.  I could go on and on...

Thanks again for all your hard work.  It has certainly paid off and is visible to us daily.

Ella and the girls had a great beach trip.  Here are a couple of pictures taken over the weekend.  Ella is 11 weeks old and is doing great.  She seems to be very happy and social.   Ella is getting all of the attention.  We can’t believe how many people come up to us on the beach or at the outlet mall and just start talking about “the dog.”  She starts puppy training classes tomorrow.

Just thought you might like to see this picture

Just to let you know how the impossibly cute little Sully (3 months) is progressing. He has now gained full athletic ability - runs as fast as a rabbit, stands up on his hind legs like a circus dog, sometimes shows off & expresses himself by flipping over and over very quickly - like a crocodile death roll. Loves to play fetch. Bouncing and falling over himself chasing after his little tennis ball. He has become a teeny stealth attack dog - leaps up to zot you on the nose, etc. Curious thing about the leash - Sully still refuses to walk away from home - I wind up having to pick him up, but he walks happily, bouncing along without pulling the leash, on the way back home.

He continues to charm the socks off everybody - human and canine, every place he goes, all the time. I attached a few photos of Sully I took when we were exploring a little deserted island together. I will try to get a picture of him with us this weekend, for your Family Page.

Good Morning, hope by now you are safely back in Chicago and enjoyed your weekend in Seattle. Things are going really well with the puppy, I think I've settled on Mackenzie, "Mac" for his name... he seems to like it. He is so friendly and cuddly...and like a magnet to anyone within a mile radius... if he stays this cute, it may be hard to go out in public anytime!  I'm pleased with how he is adjusting, the first night was a little rough, but the past two nights have been good, and there was barely a whimper when he was in his crate.

He is an absolute joy to be around and I'm looking forward to getting to know him better.  Once I learn how to transfer pictures, I promise to send some!

Ella went for her first check up and vaccinations yesterday.  She did a great job and within a couple of minutes the vet realized how incredibly intelligent she is.  She had Ella sitting on command and basically doing everything she wanted.  She will be enrolled in puppy training classes that begin Wed, May 9 and will last 6 weeks.  She is such a delight and is getting very accustomed to the crate and is sleeping through the night.  We have had 4 complete nights of sleep which is not bad.  She seems to be doing a good job with house breaking as well.

Sully settled in quickly. He has now charmed all the neighbors, their dogs and children.  Little vignette: This morning I had him out in the yard early. A school bus came by.  It's really quiet here, and there is hardly any traffic, so you can hear any vehicle from the time it crosses the bridge.  Sully noted the bus, but paid not much attention - until a child laughed.  Now, this is 300 yards away, on the other side of a brick wall, and the kid was inside the bus. But Sully spun around and watched, rapt.

We start dog school with a half dozen 10-12 week old puppies, next week.  He is sleeping through the night, mostly doing his business outside, and generally acting like a puppy dog.  "The Red Menace" only has 2 little behavior problems - chewing on humans and reluctance to walk on a leash.  I'm hoping dog training school will help there.

Now, when it comes to the cute puppy syndrome, whenever and wherever he goes, he is the automatic center of attention.  I think that if I had was carrying Paris Hilton instead of Sully Bellamy, I would not attract nearly as much attention - certainly not as much positive attention!

Just want to let you know that we couldn't be happier!  Finn is fabulous.  He seems right at home, content, playful, loving.....he is going to the bathroom outside when asked, etc.  We all love him so much already!  You have bred a beautiful puppy - thank you so much!  We'll keep you updated.

Just a quick note to let you know that Miller is doing really well. He follows me all over the house, never wanting me out of his sight!
He has been sleeping through the night which is something we are very happy about.
He won't use his crate during the day on his own, though, definitely preferring to lay at our feet!
He is eating pretty well but we need to moisten it. He is doing really well on housebreaking, with only one or two accidents.
We are using the bell system. He won't ring them yet, but looks at us with interest when we do it for him.
He can "sit" and "down" already!
He is definitely settling in with us nicely and thanks to him my kids are visiting almost every day!
My son Ben is getting his puppy this Sat so hopefully Miller and he will become fast friends!
I promise we will send pics soon [I need help] and we will talk again very soon.

Dear Tasha,
I just thought I'd drop you a quick note to let you know Sully (10 weeks) has quickly integrated himself in his new island home. He has met the neighbor Labs - one old aloof girl and one exceptionally exuberant but very sweet 2 year old.  He's already charmed four of the neighbors' grandkids. The big boy Tres, who is "almost 11" must remind Sully of your boys - he is wild for Tres.  Sully has met the triplets, too. You know how these puppies react to adoring children.

Sully went to the Vet today - a shot, a worm pill, and a clean bill of health.  He makes doggie and human friends wherever he goes.

I will send you pictures soon and often, as Sully the Sea Dog grows up in doggie heaven.  You should have seen him the first time he walked down to the edge of the salt marsh - I had no idea he could move his nose around like that.  It was a beautiful breeze - straight from the ocean. The salt really in the air. I picked him up and walked down to the end of the dock with the boats, crab traps, fishing rods and all.  Sully was silent and focused like I have not seen him before.  More later.

Thanks for Sully, Tasha,

If Day One is any indication, we have the BEST and SMARTEST puppy!  We had a great day...playing outside and introducing Miller to relatives.  He would wander into his crate and take short naps and wake up ready to play.  No accidents in the house yet (although we were outside most of day anyway!)  He slept all night, from about 1030 to 530 this am!! GOOD JOB MILLER!!  He took his first ride in the truck and is right now laying calmly beside us while we are having coffee.  OK...on to day 2...I think we are ready!! We love him!!

Dear Tasha,
I wanted to let you know that I just love the Griffith Family. I am adjusting very well...
I only went out once last night-at 4am, so I was able to go 6 hours. Boy, were they happy about that!
I went to the vet yesterday-I had my stitches removed, and she said I was in great shape
and that I am very, very cute. Every time we go outside some neighbors always stop to meet me, and tell me
how cute I am. I love people and can't wait to meet the granddaughters.
I am eating pretty good (moistening my food is best), able to walk on my leash,
and I am the best "sit" dog around. I also like to sleep in my crate during the day, as well as at night.
Don and Nancy are extremely pleased with my calm temperament and at how quickly I am learning new things.
Thank you for making me such a wonderful dog.
Love and licks,
Bailey (9 weeks old)

Tasha, Thank you...thank you!! I can't imagine anything cuter than these puppies!! Each and every one is adorable!  I can't believe how big they are getting...can't wait to see them again in person.  Thanks again for the beautiful pictures... you do a beautiful job.  I feel so fortunate that my son happened upon your website. We don't think that there could be a better, more caring breeder to love our puppy before us!!
~ Doty Family ~

These are the prettiest little puppies I can imagine. Thanks for the update.
I'm glad that you will have the duty of making the choice for me -
I'd have a devil of a time singling just one out - I want them all!
There has been a great analytical effort around here, researching a name for our new dog.
It's probably an example of detail-obsessive behavior, but as an engineer, you can appreciate
a spreadsheet with names gathered from life experience, hours on the internet
with lists of Irish and Scottish red-head names, pouring through old collected leather bound books of poetry
and sea stories, listening to little children, and thumbing through Roget's Thesaurus -
now numbering north of 100 names, all rated on a 1-10 scale for 6 qualities
ranging from effectiveness as a "call name" through appropriateness for a
medium-sized red dog and a "cool name" rating, to suitability of the name for joke-making.
All tallied, calculated and sorted with call-name suitability
weighted at 2X the other factors, vetted past a panel of experts, etc., etc., etc.
But you know, in the end, we will probably do just like a little kid with a new puppy -
give him some esoteric name, and then, no matter what name he is given,
wind-up calling him something like "Ready" or even just "Red".
(the significance he will not understand, but will come to know as his human-given signature).

Hi Tasha,
It was wonderful meeting you and your family on Friday.  Isabel and I are head over heals in love with our little green boy.  We’re thinking of calling him “Walker”.  Here are some new family photos.
~ Keefe Family ~

Just want to say a quick thank you for the new pictures of the puppies!  They are ALL so beautiful!  We are all excited - everyone in our family (grandparents, aunts, uncles...) have been looking at the pictures online.  Our boys are the most excited of course, as are we!

We love your updates-we check the site daily. It sounds like you are a very, very caring breeder, and it is good to know our puppy is in such good hands. Everyone we have shown the pictures to has just ooh'ed and ahh'ed. Our granddaughters love seeing the pictures too-- our whole family is involved in picking out a name.
