Letters from the Families of Joy's Third Litter

This is a reference from a Naper Doodle family regarding another breeder.
Dear Naper Doodle family (and Tasha!), You are discussing one of my favorite topics – doodles!!!  We are blessed to have one of the pups from Joy’s litter of two! Her name is Molly and she is such a sweetheart. A year after we got Molly we added a second doodle named Max who is the complete opposite of Molly. But Max and Molly are inseparable and have a lot of fun playing together.

The breeder we went with for Max is located in Neenah, WI and her web site is http://www.goldendoodleacres.com. The breeder, Janece Schommer, is listed on the http://www.goldendoodles.com web site that Tasha references. We are very pleased with Max. He is an absolutely beautiful dog with a very playful disposition. He is a double doodle (half golden doodle and half labradoodle) and if this breed would ever be considered purebred by the AKC, I believe he could have been considered show quality. He “floats” when he walks and has the most beautiful thick curly fleece coat that I have ever seen. The lab bone structure is very strong in him as he is very boxy.

I would highly recommend Janece as a breeder. She is extremely conscientious about breeding quality puppies (health, disposition, coat, etc). She keeps the puppies in whelping boxes in her home and her home does not smell like puppies! She is a fairly large breeding operation and normally has several litters at one time. She is conservative in using her breeding females. Max’s mom is expecting another litter a year after he was born so she skipped a cycle.

Since she has many litters at once, she doesn’t have the time to learn the dispositions of the pups as much as a smaller breeder might be able to. We were very spoiled with Tasha because she really learned the personalities of the puppies and worked hard to make the best possible matches. But overall we couldn’t be happier and if we get another doodle in the future, we will probably get it from Goldendoodle Acres. Please let me know if you have any other questions and best wishes in this new adventure!

"Thanks so much for doing this. It is fun to compare (no two are the same!)....also it's interesting to see how people groom them. And Molly and Nina just turned 1!!! I'm trying to talk Joe into getting another doodle."
~ The Wilz Family (via FaceBook) ~

Dear Tasha, I just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know that I love living with the Wilz family. Shortly after I came to my "forever" home we moved to a bigger house on three acres of wooded land. I love to run around outside and check out our big yard.

I'm very busy every day. There are three cats and two dogs to play with. I especially like to play with Misty who is a shepherd mix and weighs more than 90 pounds. I think I wear Misty out sometimes because she lays on her side panting with her tongue hanging down to the floor. Misty is very strong but she is very gentle with me. We like to tease each other and I just love to be chased by her.

The people in my house give me lots of love and attention. I like to go on long walks and I do a good job walking on a leash. I've been going to lots of soccer games and last week I visited a nursing home. No matter where I go I get a lot of attention. I love people and already have many friends.

Thank you so much for making my life possible. I am a very happy and healthy puppy.

Hi Tasha, Sorry to hear about your loss.  We will pray for you and your family. We just wanted to let you know that we have moved.  We now live on 3 wooded acres (with an invisible fence!).  Our dogs love it and so do we. Molly is doing REALLY well.  She is getting lots and lots of love...particularly from our 18-year-old who wasn't real crazy about getting a puppy until she met Molly.  She's on a walk with Molly as I write this!

Our sweet Molly has almost tripled in size weighing in at 15+ pounds.  We will be starting a puppy class in a couple of weeks.  We're considering training her in agility because she really loves to run, is extremely fast, and seems very coordinated.  She appears to be built a lot like her dad with her mom's face and coloring.  She has a wonderful disposition and is very loving and cuddly.  We feel so blessed to have Molly.  Thank you so much for all of your hard work and your commitment to providing such wonderful pets.  We will send you some pictures in the near future.

Hi Tasha, It’s going great... you are right, she is a doll!!!  She is very calm and fits in very well.  I think that at first she may have been a little overwhelmed with the size of Misty (our shepherd mix) but Misty is a very gentle and loving dog.  This morning I thought I would give her a break from the big dogs but when she heard them outside she got restless and started crying because she wanted to be with them!  Our cats don’t seem affected by her because she is so calm.

The biggest surprise of all is how our eighteen-year-old (who supposedly doesn’t like dogs) reacted to her...Molly ended up sleeping with her last night! She will be loved a whole bunch and I believe that we will meet at some point in time.  God bless you and your family for the wonderful work you have done with these puppies. I hope you and your family have a wonderful vacation.  We will keep you posted.

Brenda, I want to make sure they made it home okay!  She is such a little doll and I know you will all fall in love quickly. She looked so precious in Joe’s arms—I see a deep relationship developing there quickly.  Be sure to cut off her food and water around 6pm and take her for 2-3 more potty trips before 10pm. She should be fine in her crate with her Booda cuddly from about 10pm- 7am. She’s been sleeping in a crate alone for 4 nights already, in the pitch dark.

I’d love to know how the introductions to your brood went, if you get a minute. I was sure to expose her to Joy (her mom) and Bella (our rambunctious teenage Goldendoodle) a whole bunch in the past week. All Molly (HOW I LOVE THAT NAME!!!) wants to do with Joy is try nursing, but she got loads of playtime with Bella.  Molly’s sister, “Nina,” is here tonight and will go home tomorrow.

I would have loved to have met you. My husband and I really enjoyed talking with Joe.
Hugs to little Molly—she will grow into your heart quickly and I pray she is a blessing on your home.

Hi Tasha, We got your packet in the mail, too (later in the day that I sent our packet out!). I can tell that he's really excited about getting a puppy and he doesn't show much emotion so this is fun. We are looking forward to next Wednesday!

Hi  Tasha,  We are so happy!   She is adorable.   She was my pick from the get go,   she also has my Mom's birthday.   My Mom passed away 5 years go.  God rest her soul.  What an awesome Mother's Day gift.  Are you sending the contract through the mail?  Also we need to find out when we can come see her.  Should we bring a crate when we come see her?  I guess buying a crate is on my list of things to do this weekend.  Let me know when the best time in your schedule is.  Now we have to all agree on a name. Talk to you soon.  Thanks,

Tasha, The pictures of the puppies are so cute.  I don't know who is cuter,  dark girl or light girl.  You can see how chubby their tummys are.  They look big already.  In the meantime,  I'm still being patient.  Trying anyway.  It's gotta be kinda different not having so many puppies moving around all at once and only 2.  They must be getting  spoiled by all the attention that they are receiving.  Talk to you soon.

If you don't own a dog, at least one,
there is not necessarily anything wrong with you,
but there may be something wrong with your life.
